Feb 22, 2010

I did not realize how long it had been since I had been on her to update things. I am on Facebook all the time and had a glitch with my email account. If I have not answered you I am working on it. :)

Let's see....first the CAG (Ceramic Artist Guild) one recommend joining it and two recommend it to a friend. It is a great origination! They publish an online magazine FREEEEEE....and wonderful. We have CAG Ambassador's and we all contribute to the magazine freely for the love and enjoyment of ceramics and all that it brings to us. Take a look at the latest issue of Cerakanvas...on www.ceramicartistguild.com . I find it about the best thing in publishing for this industry in years! And that is saying a lot....cause we are down to one magazine at the moment and they are limited in what they can publish as well as they have to have advertisers to keep a float. Not a bad thing so don't cancel your subscription. :)

I did a ceramic show for the first time in years, actually since my Aunt was diagnosed with cancer. It was amazing!!! yeah it was small and yeah you could walk thru it in a moment! But the people who came who we have know for years was soooo terrific. Let's  you know it is still out there. Mom and I were greeted by the customers with such love and where have been....what are you teaching, why are you not selling????

We were there in behalf of the CAG and the Exhibitors Association (Tim Hayes) kindly let us have a booth there for free to promote the CAG. We had a GREAT booth and a wonderful time. The response the guild was truly and warmly accepted. We posted all day live from the show on Facebook.  People were able to look right into the Guild Site and Facebook.....that is technology for you!

Door prizes were the best ever...well since the old old days. :)   Creative Paradise so kindly donated some of her Webinars! How cool was that. We had several people win those and I hope they take advantage of them.  Mike Harbridge with www.claypuzzleing.com donated his webinars and $20 gift certificate towards his products!!! CAG donated (2) web site's to be custom built for a home studio or crafter. I won't mention the price on this... it was amazing. Jan Cline a CAG Ambassador sent the most wonderful bag of ceramic tools for the newbie to get started.

The ladies who had the bisque booth....they nearly sold out the first day. Ok, yes I bought stuff and so did Mom. Colors for Earth Marchelle was there with Raku, Glass painting and Applikates. A lady from Creative Paradise was there doing make and takes for glass fusing.  Such fun!

I have been working on a few things! I have a class coming up March 20th....I will try to post a flyer shortly. I did these pieces from Mayco Bisque called Goofballs.....well who knew they would be such a hit! So I am working on them for a class.  We hope to be at the June show as well with a both for the Guild again.

I would love to hear from you any time. Comments regarding the Guild, things you like dislike would like to see, tired of seeing.........YOU tell me.

Until I update again! :)
